the tiny new 'ella

On Saturday, January 12, 2013 we welcomed the newest tiny 'ella into our lives. Evelyn Eileen made her grand debut, 6 days past her due date at 10:16PM. She was a 7lb 12oz, 21.5" tall bundle of cuteness.

Baby Names

Why oh why is it so darn hard for us to select a baby name? I'd love to settle on something beforehand but I'm just not sure it will happen. Right now the current top runners are:

The beans abode

Two months after moving in, Julian's room is officially the first that's almost done. At the moment, it just serves as a play room, we moved the crib into our room since he doesn't have an A/C. There's a few things left to do, I'd like to add some pennants along the top of the wall, where it meets the ceiling, possibly paint the play table and of course, move the crib in and add a toddler bed since we plan on switching J to that once the new little one arrives.

Sour Grapes

Whole wheat bagel with some grape jelly accompanied by a side of strawberries and sour grapes, YUM!

Senor Hootie

Hootie aka J-man, has become quite the personality. He still doesn't talk much, but he's been busy learning other things, important things. Things like jumping up and making a shocked face whenever he farts, shooting out his pointer finger and vigorously shaking his entire arm back and forth as if to say "No way, don't even think it, it was NOT me who just passed gas". He's a lover of all foods, with the occasional exception of hummus. He loves belly buttons, especially his, he plays with it non-stop, even while sleeping, I'll admit it's sort of odd but whatever floats his boat. Reading time is a favorite, but you are only allowed to read the first two pages of whatever book he brings you, after that time you MUST pick up a new book from the stack he bought over or you get yelled at. His stuffed friends have it rough, he loves them most times, but if they're in his way, they need to watch out, he will body slam them and throw them across the room with barely a seconds notice. For example, today one had the nerve to find itself sitting in his camping chair when Julian walked by, he must not have gotten the memo that Julian wanted to sit in the exact chair at 5pm, well, Quenton (the bear) found himself uprooted and chucked clear across the closest doorway, poor thing.

I'll leave you with a picture of Mr. Tudey pants refusing to look at the camera, what can I say, he's a little ferocious and strong willed like his Mama.

Bebe Numero Dos

Well folks, it looks like we crazy kids are at it again. I'll admit it wasn't a total surprise, but it was still a little bit of a shock. It's a little overwhelming to think what life with two under two will be like, but we're actually pretty excited. My brother and I are four years apart and I felt that we missed out on a lot of bonding as young kids because of that. I always knew I wanted to do things a little different with my kids and have them closer together, I just wasn't thinking this close. I want to try and be much more diligent about taking bump pictures this go around, so expect to see weekly updates of the growing bean.

How far along: 13w3days at the time the picture was taken
Total weight gain? 0
Maternity clothes: None yet
Stretch marks: I didn't  get any last time, hoping for the same this go around
Sleep: The lack of can be blamed on Julian, the kids a worse sleeper than I am
Best moment this week: Finally showing off my bump, I'm showing so much earlier this time.
Miss Anything: Sleep, but again, that can be blamed on the toddler.
Movement: Possibly? I didn't feel J-man until 18 weeks, but there was some suspicious activity earlier in the week, on two separate occasions, and I don't think it was gas.
Food cravings: None
Anything making you queasy or sick: That entire first trimester was a shit show. Ugh, I am so happy to be feeling better. Most strong smells make me queasy, but at least I'm not throwing up all the time.
Sex: I was such a physical and mental wreck the first tri that I thought for sure it must be a girl, now, I'm not so convinced, we find out on the 31st.
Labor Signs: Let's hope I have no signs of this until at least 38.5 weeks.
Symptoms: All day sickness, depression in the first tri, and migraines, oh the glorious migraines, they last the entire pregnancy with J-man, I hope they quit early this time.
Belly Button in or out: Definitely in.
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Now, happy, up until two weeks ago, moody & weepy.
Looking forward to: Finding out the sex on the 31st.
